Durham Officer Jailed For Beating Suspect Now Being Sued

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — A Superior Court judge has amended a police brutality lawsuit against the city of Durham and a former officer.

Lawyers for Jessie Lee Dixon claim Michael Aultman beat Dixon in 2002, and then failed to provide medical treatment.

Dixon's lawyers are now seeking damages from the city and Aultman, who resigned as a police officer, pleaded guilty to the charges and served a short jail sentence.
