Westbound I-40 In Durham County Reduced To One Lane This Weekend

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The N.C. Department of Transportation reported that it would reduce traffic this weekend to one lane on westbound I-40 in Durham County between N.C. 751 and N.C. 54.

Officials said the lane reduction would begin on Friday, June 10 at 8 p.m. and end at 6 a.m. on Monday, June 13.

The lane closures are necessary to complete the I-40 widening project, officials said.

They recommend motorists take N.C. 147 to I-85 South back to I-40 as an alternate route.
