Authorities say a man attacked a 22-year-old man with a metal pole just before 2 a.m. on May 27 in a parking lot on Church Street between West Franklin and West Rosemary streets.
Neither the victim nor his companion knew the assailant, who is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, and 180 to 190 pounds with an athletic build. He had short light brown hair and some facial hair (possibly a goatee) and a stud earring in one ear. He was wearing a light colored shirt, blue jeans.
Witnesses reported that the two men left in a newer model, red Ford 150 pickup truck. The first two letters of the license plate may be "DA." It also had some wording across the back window of the truck cab.
