A federal inmate was charged Friday with attempted murder in the prison stabbing of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd. John Turscak stabbed Chauvin 22 times in the law library at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson, Arizona, with an improvised knife, federal prosecutors said.

<b>WILSON, N.C.</b> — The family of a Wilson soldier killed in Iraq have made funeral arrangements.

Army Spc.  Phillip Edmundson died last Wednesday in a roadside bombing in Ramadi.

Edmundson's family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Wilson.

His funeral is set for Saturday at L. N. Forbes Free Will Baptist Tabernacle. The service will begin at 1 p.m.

Edmundson will be buried with military honors, including a color guard and 21-gun salute.
