CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — The Cumberland County courthouse could get a major security upgrade.
A committee of county commissioners proposed spending nearly $1.5 million on the improvements.
Suggestions include vehicle barriers 85 feet from the building, stronger windows and securing a loading dock.
The commissioners plan to discuss the security upgrade further before a final vote.
The move is in response to a March shooting rampage at an Atlanta courthouse.
