— Durham police are trying to identify an armed theft suspect.

Police say on May 18, a man tried to steal a watch at Hudson Belk at The Streets at Southpoint.

Investigators say a loss prevention officer confronted him and tried to handcuff him when the suspect pulled out a gun and ran out the door.

No one was hurt, but police have yet to find the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male, 45 to 55 years old, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and 220 to 240 pounds. He had a mustache and was wearing a gray ball cap, a yellow shirt and blue jeans. He fled in a white, older model, 4-door Chevrolet with North Carolina plates, which was occupied by another person.
