RALEIGH, N.C. — The names of the two occupants of a small plane that crashed near Raleigh-Durham International Airport Thursday night have been released.

The pilot, Catherine Taylor, and her husband, Gordon, walked away from their rented Cessna plane after it missed the runway on approach and crashed into a wooden area near Umstead State Park at about 10 p.m. Thursday.

The Taylors rented the Cessna from a company based at RDU.

Federal investigators are still trying to determine what caused the plane to crash.
