COATS, N.C. — Police will stay on the streets in a small Harnett County town.
Coats leaders found $43,000 extra in funding to keep the police force in business until the fiscal year begins in July.
A big chunk of the budget problems was $10,000 in sick and vacation pay given to the former police chief who stepped down in December.
