Man Found Not Guilty For Death Of Peace College Student

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man accused of causing a car wreck that killed a Peace College Student was found not guilty Friday.

Twenty-one-year-old Kathren O'Connell died in February 2004 when the car she was riding in crashed and caught on fire on Highway 70.

Troopers said Christopher Malandrino was behind the wheel of the car and drunk at the time of the wreck.

Malandrino and his attorney claimed he was not driving, and the jury appeared to agree with a not guilty verdict.
