MOOSIC, Pa. — Durham earned a split of a four-game series with Scranton on Friday with a 4-2 victory over the Red Barons.
B.J. Upton's two-run, two-out single capped a three-run seventh to give the Bulls their final lead of the evening.
Eric Munson, who scored the first run of the night on a wild pitch, doubled to center to start the rally. Munson keyed a 12-hit attack by going 3-for-4.
The offense was enough to back Jason Phillips (2-1), who pitched 6.2 strong innings in a homecoming of sorts, as Phillips is a native of Pennsylvania. Joe Nelson, the last of four Durham pitchers who pitched Friday night, got his first save.
The Bulls begin an eight-game homestand on Saturday against Indianapolis at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at
