Man Accused Of Assaulting TV Photographers Reaches Plea Deal

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man accused of assaulting local television photographers reached a deal in court Wednesday.

Asa Collier lost his temper outside the Wake County Courthouse in November after reporters asked him if he was part of the mob accused of vandalizing GOP headquarters in Raleigh.

In a plea deal with prosecutors, Collier pleaded guilty to two counts of injury to personal property. He had also been charged with assault, but the charge was dismissed as part of the plea deal. He will also have to pay the repair costs for the television cameras.
