Family Of Slain Couple Will Hold A Memorial, Just Not Yet

Posted Updated

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The family of a Chapel Hill couple who were slain at their home plans to hold a memorial, but not right away, the family's attorney said in a statement Wednesday.

Police have charged 16-year-old Adam Sapikowski with two counts of first-degree murder in the death of his parents, James and Alison Sapikowski.

Sapikowski is currently in the Orange County jail without bond, but the teen's lawyer, public defender James Williams, said he might ask for a bond hearing in the next week or two.

Chapel Hill homicide detectives are also looking into reports that Sapikowski hosted a prom party the same weekend he allegedly killed his parents.
