HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — The Harnett County Sheriff's Office said a man who was found dead Tuesday in a pond was riding near its edge when his all-terrain vehicle flipped.
A representative with the sheriff's department said family members saw the body of Gary Michael Yunker, 47, of Lillington, in a pond off Lab Run Road, west of Lillington.
Yunker's family said he lived alone and went riding his ATV Tuesday night. When they did not hear from him, family members went looking for him, and found him in the pond with his four-wheeler.
The incident appeared to be an accident, the sheriff's office said.
