FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man is dead after an overnight vehicle wreck in Cumberland County.
It happened shortly after midnight on Butler Nursery Road near Hidden Oaks Drive.
Investigators say 61-year-old William Stephen Cain's van crossed the center lane, ran off the road and flipped.
Cain was ejected from the vehicle and transportated to Cape Fear Valley Hospital where he died.
Investigators say he was not wearing a seat belt. The state Highway Patrol determined Cain was traveling at an unsafe speed for a curve. They are awaiting toxicology results.
