ROXBORO, N.C. — Fears of potential violence kept hundreds of students out of school Friday.
School administrators said about 550 students were absent as a result of rumors threatening school violence at Person High and Northern Middle schools.
As a precaution, extra officers patrolled both schools on Friday, the day the rumored violence was to occur.
