CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Dogs and cats in Cumberland County will have to wait for their new temporary home.
An engineer told a Cumberland County committee that plans to replace the old shelter are behind schedule. Construction for a new facility was supposed to have started by now.
Officials say because of soil conditions on the site, construction will not start until July.
The county has been working on a new $4 million shelter for about five years.
