Chapel Hill MLK Street Sign
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Road crews put up signs that reflect the name change of Airport Road to Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.

New signs now line the main road through the Town of Chapel Hill.

"Historic Airport Road" appears beneath each sign.

The plan had its critics who said changing the address on cards and letterhead would be a burden.

Supporters fought for the idea, saying it was a proper way to honor the civil rights leader.
