Authorities found Kaylan Jacobs unharmed at the Pine Hill Grocery Store with her cousin, Kimberly Jacobs of Lumberton.
Robeson County Sheriff Kenneth Sealey said Kimberly Jacobs had taken the child from her home on Friday night. Deputies issued an Amber Alert for Kaylan Saturday morning.
Sealey said Kaylan and Kimberly Jacobs had been missing for about 10 hours before a clerk at the Red Springs Convenience Store in Robeson County alerted the sheriff's office of their whereabouts.
"We're pleased with the Amber Alert," Robeson County Sheriff Kenneth Sealey said. "With the help of the Amber Alert and the media, the person in the store located the child and the suspect."
Sealey said that within minutes of getting a lead on the child's whereabouts, the sheriff's office had picked up Kaylan.
"She appeared unharmed and even waved to our cameras on her way into the sheriff's office, where her parents were waiting," Sealey said.
Alishaa Hunt, Kaylan's mother, thanked the sheriff's office, the media and the public for bringing her daughter home.
"The happy ending is we got the child back safe and united with her parents," Sealey added.
Kimberly Jacobs, 34, is in the Robeson County jail and being held under $11,000 bond.
