RALEIGH, N.C. — Some major players in the lottery debate say selling tickets would be bad for their business.

A major group of nearly 2,000 convenience store owners is divided on whether the lottery would help or hurt their business.

The North Carolina Convenience Store Association said half of its members are concerned about equipment costs for ticket machines and some claim long lines during big jackpots could drive away customers.
