OXFORD, N.C. — A Granville County woman accused of taking $250,000 from the company where she worked is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
The Granville County Sheriff's Department alleges Katharina Garner, 45, embezzled the money over a seven-year period from Georgia Pacific Sawmill.
Officials from the Atlanta headquarters of the timber corporation reported the alleged crime to the Granville County Sheriff's Department.
Garner was released under $75,000 bond pending a preliminary court hearing Wednesday.
The investigation continues.
