ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — A huge entertainment complex in Roanoke Rapids could get one step closer to becoming a reality on Monday.

The state Senate is expected to give final approval to a bill that would allow Roanoke Rapids to annex land for an entertainment complex modeled after one in Branson, Mo.

Branson is known for its country music shows and other entertainment.

Aside from five music theaters, the plans for the Roanoke Rapids complex also include hotels, restaurants and shops.
