Man Accused Of Sexual Assaults In Chapel Hill, Durham

RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities believe a man who attacked three women is on the loose.

On March 11, police said the first reported attacked occurred at University Mall in Chapel Hill. The woman told police she got into a white car and the man drove her to a nearby location and sexually assaulted her.

A few hours later, police said another women was forced into the same car on Fayetteville Road in Durham. According to police, the woman was taken to north Chapel Hill where she was assaulted.

The most recent attack occurred 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Europa Drive and Legion Road. That time, the woman fought back and the suspect let her go.

Investigators said all the attacks occurred in the early morning hours and happened within the last five weeks.

The assailant is described as a black male, approximately 45 years old. He is 6 feet to 6-feet-2 inches with a medium build. He has a mustache.

Chapel Hill police describe the attacker's car as a white, mid-1990s, American-made car with the taillights going all the way across the back.
