FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A major project is getting the green light in downtown Fayetteville.
City leaders said they will pitch in money to turn the 300 block of Hay Street from a gravel lot into a retail and housing complex.
They agree to spend $1.4 million buying the land and demolishing certain buildings.
Investors plan to spend roughly 10 times that amount, developing the site.
