APEX, N.C. — The Apex planning board did not like a proposal to transform an historic piece of land into a housing subdivision.
In a 4-2 vote Monday, the board rejected a revised plan by the developer to build 42 townhomes and 123 single-family residences on the Seagroves tobacco farm complex.
Opponents said the plan will cause traffic tie-ups and ruin the historic site.
Even though the planning board does not recommend it, the town board of commissioners will have the final say in May.
