DURHAM, N.C. — A judge on Thursday morning denied a request to lower the bond for a man charged in an accident that killed a Durham grandmother.
Kenneth Maready is charged with DWI, assault, larceny and being a habitual felon.
Investigators say he was drunk last month when he got behind the wheel of a stolen car and crashed into a pickup truck.
The accident killed Kay Stokes. Maready's bond stays at $1 million.
