RALEIGH, N.C. — An American Eagle jet made an emergency landing at RDU International on Sunday.
An American spokesman said the pilot smelled burnt oil in the cockpit shortly after takeoff and returned to the airport.
As a precaution, the plane was evacuated.
During the evacuation, a passenger landed awkwardly and broke her ankle.
No one else was injured.
