Woman Assaulted During Raleigh Car Theft Tuesday Morning

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police in Raleigh are investigating a carjacking that happened Tuesday morning.

Police say a woman at the Bryn Athyn Way Apartments was attacked in the parking lot of the apartments and her car was stolen at about 6:30 a.m.

Police said the theft happened when a woman left her car running in the parking lot unattended. The woman returned to her car from the apartment and saw a man trying to steal her car. The woman tried to stop the man and was hurt during a struggle.

She was taken to WakeMed with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are looking for a red 1999 Acura with a license plate of SRE-7681. The car has a sticker on the back of the car that says "Support our Troops" and has a plate on the front that says PRINCESS.
