RALEIGH, N.C. — At noon Tuesday, around 100 religious leaders from across the state will gather in front of the general assembly building to rally against a constitutional amendment that would define marriage in North Carolina as only between a man and a woman.
The demonstrators say the "Defense of Marriage" amendment is discrimination against same-sex couples.
Organizers say people of diverse faiths are coming together on this issue, while other people of faiths are defending the traditional definition of marriage.
