N.C. DOT Plans To Cut State Highway Money For Triangle

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County leaders are fighting the North Carolina DOT's plan to cut $300 million in state highway money.

For the last several years, the Triangle has been using unspent DOT dollars from rural counties, for projects like the Knightdale bypass.

Now the DOT says it's payback time.

Monday state lawmakers met with local leaders to talk about big issues.

Fighting this budget cut is high on their list.
