CARY, N.C. — Police are stepping up patrols on a deadly stretch of Triangle highway.
The target in that area will be speeders.
Cary police are concentrating on a section of U.S. 1 between Walnut Street and Tryon Road.
Accidents there killed six people two years ago.
Since police started the aggressive campaign last year, there's only been one fatal wreck.
Motorists can expect to see more flashing lights as that part of U.S. 1 becomes a construction zone for the widening project.
