Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Johnston County

JOHNSTON COUNTY — A pilot in Johnston County had a close call Friday night. The pilot thought his landing gear was in place, but when the plane touched down, the landing gear collapsed. The plane slid on its belly to the end of the runway.

The pilot called 911 after the landing.

The Wilson's Mills Fire Department responded as a precaution.

The pilot reported a bumpy but safe landing. He was not hurt. The plane sustained minimal damage. The FAA is investigating.
