RALEIGH, N.C. — The Supreme Court may not have the last word on the state Superintendent's race after all.
Democrats in the state House and Senate have filed bills to take the controversial race out of the hands of the courts and into the hands of the Legislature.
Last week, the Supreme Court ordered a lower court judge to toss out more than 11,000 out-of-precinct ballots.
Democrats said the court does not have jurisdiction to decide contested elections.
