Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools Considering Random Drug Testing Policy

Posted Updated

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Random drug tests for students? One local school board may consider it.

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro school board is revamping its substance abuse policy. One option on the table is random drug testing.

In 1998, the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system became the first in the state to test students for drugs and alcohol.

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro school board will hear recommendations Thursday.
