HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Orange County emergency officials responded to a train fire near U.S. 70-A East Monday morning.

One of the engines of the train caught fire around 5:45 a.m. while a train was across the street from Tuscarora Drive.

The Hillsborough Fire Department is on the scene at the area. Fire officials said the fire appeared to be electical and that diesel fuel on the train did not catch on fire.

There were no injuries from the fire and traffic should not be affected, officials said.
