CLAYTON, N.C. — Prosecutors will seek the death penalty against a man accused of stabbing an elderly couple to death.
Dorothea Dix Hospital officials say Wilbur Daye is fit to stand trial.
Daye is accused of killing Rena Young and James Harper inside their home in Clayton. He reportedly argued with the victims before stabbing them multiple times. He then turned himself in to police.
Daye will remain in the Johnston County Jail until his trial.
