RALEIGH, N.C. — A man accused in a deadly drunken driving accident in north Raleigh Monday night now faces more serious charges.

Steve Cummings, of St. Albans, W. va., is charged with second-degree murder.

Police said Cummings was drunk when he ran a red light and caused a three-car crash on Falls of Neuse Road.

Jacqueline Rose, 48, was killed.

Cummings was charged with DWI and felony death by vehicle.

The charge was raised because Cummings was previously convicted of drunken driving.
