Demand For Plumbers On Rise As Temperatures Fall

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Cold weather is a hot business for plumbers across the Triangle.

From frozen water pipes to broken water heaters, plumbers work overtime when the temperature falls.

One Raleigh company that usually gets about 25 calls a day received 40 on Monday.

The most common complaint is frozen pipes.

Experts said the best way to prevent pipes from freezing is to make sure vents and crawl spaces are sealed tight, ensuring pipes get some heat from the home.

Plumbers say since temperatures will be higher on Tuesday, any pipes that froze on Monday should thaw.
