DURHAM, N.C. — The man behind a batch of baked beans that made dozens of churchgoers sick has a chance to clear his record.
Caterer Carl Privette recently struck a deal with the court that if he stays out of trouble for year, his record will be cleared.
Privette was charged with a misdemeanor for making the baked beans in an unlicensed kitchen.
Dozens of churchmembers came down with salmonella poisoning after eating the beans.
