Widow Of Capitol Broadcasting Founder Dies At 94

RALEIGH, N.C. — A beloved member of the WRAL broadcasting family has passed away.

Margaret Fletcher, 94, was a lifelong resident of Raleigh.

She was a member of the

A.J. Fletcher Foundation

and the widow of Capitol Broadcasting Company's founder.

Fletcher was a graduate of St. Mary's College and for many years worked for the U.S. Geological Survey Office.

She was noted for helping elderly women find affordable housing in Raleigh.

A funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Hayes Barton Baptist Church.
