RALEIGH, N.C. — One southbound lane of Capital Boulevard has reopened after crews repaired an early morning water main break.
Raleigh public utilities crews fixed the water main break under the inbound lanes of Capital Boulevard between Fenton Street and Crabtree Boulevard.
Raleigh police officers spotted the leak.
"There was quite a bit of water running, so luckily they did see it before it caused any major problems," said Andy Brogden, of Raleigh water distribution.
The water main was shut off around 2 a.m. and crews began digging up the road to repair the break.
The water main break prompted Faith Lutheran School to cancel classes Wednesday due to a disruption of water service.
