RALEIGH, N.C. — Two bond issues in Wake County were big winners Tuesday night.
Voters approved a $26 million open-space bond.
County leaders want to buy and protect land that will help protect the county's waterways.
A similar bond referendum four years ago paid for the acquisition of more than 1,800 acres.
Voters also supported a $40 million bond that will give Wake Technical Community College some breathing room.
About 80 percent of the bond package goes toward the yet-to-be-built North Campus off highway 401.
