Proposed Raleigh Towing Plan Moves Forward

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — After months of debate, a Raleigh towing ordinance seems to be moving ahead.

The non-consensual towing plan requires towing companies to accept credit cards. It also requires tow truck operators to report the tow to police within an hour.

The City Council is still debating whether the city should license the industry and a maximum amount companies can charge.

The Council is also considering requiring private property owners to put up a chain at their entrances to prevent illegal parking.

Members take the issue up again in two weeks.
