Authorities Offer Reward For Info About Durham Freeway Accident

DURHAM, N.C. — Police are offering a reward for information about a vehicle that left the scene of a fatal accident Monday on the Durham Freeway.

The accident happened just after 6:30 p.m. between the Duke and Mangum street exits.

Durham police said 36-year-old Alex Armstrong walked halfway across the southbound lanes when a car hit him and kept going.

Two other cars then ran over Armstrong because they were unable to stop, police said.

The accident is under investigation.

The accident slowed traffic on the Durham Freeway for more than two hours.
