RALEIGH, N.C. — A bomb threat that shut down a Raleigh bank and had police surrounding the building turned out to be a joke.
Police say Christopher Mims, 26, of Apex, called in the threat Monday to one of the tellers at the BB&T Bank on Capital Boulevard.
According to court officials, Mims knew the bank teller and was playing a joke.
Mims is in jail on $50,000 bond. He is charged with making a false report concerning a destructive device.
