RALEIGH, N.C. — The Raleigh assistant city manager may not have to go back to jail.
Last week, Lawrence Wray was arrested Wednesday for failing to comply with a court order in his divorce case. He was transferred from the jail to the hospital with heart problems. He has since been released from the hospital.
Wray was to report back to jail upon his release, but his attorney wants Wray's case to be heard in Superior Court.
A judge entered a stay on his jail sentence pending an appeal and a new hearing.
