Judge Reduces Bond For Day Care Shooter

Posted Updated

WELDON, N.C. — A judge reduced bond to $75,000 for a man accused of shooting his girlfriend outside a day-care center.

Authorities say Bruce Jarrett chased Ebony Lane through Weldon Daycare and shot her in the leg.

Lane was holding the couple's six-month-old child at the time.

At a hearing, a judge did not find probable cause to charge him with first degree attempted murder, but the judge did find cause to charge Jarrett with assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious bodily injury.
