<b>ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.</b> — A 71-year-old Rocky Mount woman gave a robber more than he bargained for.

When Pearline Lloyd returned from a shopping trip, she found an intruder inside her home. She grabbed her phone to call 911 and a golf club.

When the man attacked her, Floyd beat him with the club. He ran away with some money and jewelry.

Lloyd spent four days in the hospital with a collapsed lung. She is recovering well at home.
