Finalists Compete In Durham For Chance To Be On 'American Idol'

DURHAM, N.C. — Fifty singers will compete for a trip to audition for "American Idol."
Round two of Fox 50's "
" kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The 50 finalists will sing for a panel of judges at the American Tobacco Pavilion in Durham. One winner will get a free trip to Las Vegas for a guaranteed audition before the American Idol producers.
Admission is free. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. with a concert by FOX 50's "Gimme the Mike" winner Jason Carroll.
