Weldon Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges In Day-Care Shooting

Posted Updated

WELDON, N.C. — There are more charges against a man who is accused of shooting his girlfriend outside a Weldon daycare center last week.

Bruce Jarrett, 23, is now charged with attempted murder. Authorities say Jarrett chased Ebony Lane through the day-care center and shot her in the leg with a sawed-off shotgun.

Lane was holding the couple's 6-month-old child at the time. The baby was not hurt.

Jarrett is being held in jail on $100,000 bond.
