RALEIGH, N.C. — There is more concern about security at the Shearon Harris nuclear plant.
Chatham County commissioner Margaret Pollard wants Gov. Mike Easley to station National Guard troops at the nuclear plant. She wants that to be a short-term measure until U.S. Army troops could be brought in.
Progress Energy officials said current security is adequate.
Chatham County commissioners decided to get input from Wake County before sending the formal request.
